As the world's reserve of oil gets smaller and more expensive, chemists are looking for alternative ways of energy. They say that the new oil derived vegetables oils promises to be a cleaner alternative to the petroleum-based oil.
Ford made the first step and is now the leaser of what some hope to be a revolution based on vegetable oils used to power cars or to protect their engines.
In contract with petroleum-based products, vegetable oils are not toxic, are biodegradable and they proceed from a limitless resource.
Although vegetables-based oils have such benefits, they are used only in 2% of the market. A big problem for vegetable-based oil on the market is its reliability. When these oils get to cold, they solidify and when they get to hot, they break apart and oxidize. Another problem is the high costs for developing oils that run on vegetable-based oils.
I think that in the future these problems will be solved and most of the cars will run on vegetable-based oils. This way the Earth will be less polluted and the humans will have an unlimited stock of oil.
