The First Impression Counts

They say that you can't judge a book by its covers, but who didn't do that? It is time to find out how important the first impression is.
Either if you want it or not, we live in a society where the other's opinion matters and it can affect your life more or less. How many times did it happen to you not to go to a restaurant just because a waitress was nasty? How many times did it happen to you not to talk to a person just because he/she did a bad joke?
How to make a good impression
Actually there is no must that can help us win the good opinion of the others, but we can give you some good advices for the first impression.
1. Be a good listener! When you are near a person that feels the need to tell you something, you will make a great impression if you know how to listen to that person. This means that you have to look interested in what the other person it telling you, from time to time you could ask “And what happen next?” to shake your head and to look in that persons eyes. Even so, it is not properly to interrupt that person in the middle of a sentence for explications. If you do that there is the risk to ruin everything.
2. Be careful at the jokes! Even if humor makes miracles in many tense situations, when you don't know the others around you, you shouldn't abuse because the others may not like them or, in the worst case, they may even misinterpret them. You should reduce yourself to funny expressions, innocent jokes, that you are sure that won't upset anyone.
3. Don't try to be the star! It is pretty dangerous to tell savory details in your life to a relatively new person. You will look like a self-seeking person, that you want to speak only about what you are interested in and that you won't stop until you say what you want. If you want a second meting, moderation will save you this time too.
4. The appearance counts! Even if it sounds strange, people will make an impression on you also by your look. You can't go to a job interview wearing sport cloths or you can't go to an exam wearing your club clothes because you could attract aversion from the others or you could fail to pass that exam. You should adapt your clothes to every situation.
Now that you have some advices, you know more or less how to make others get a good impression on you.
