There are many types of roses you can plant around your garden. You just have to decide witch one is more appropriate for you. You also have to take into consideration the zone you live in.
If you want roses with powerful scent, you should choose from:
- “Crimston Glory” - it grows very tall (up to 4.5m) and it has rich red flowers in early summer;
- “Maiden's Blush” - it can get up to 1.5m and it grows blush-pink flowers once in early summer;
- “Gertrude Jekyll” - it can get up to 1.2m and it had dark pink flowers.
If you are looking for tall flowering roses, here are some species:
- “Zephirine Drouhin” - it keeps going almost until Christmas. It has no thorns and it is cherry pink with strong scent. You can grow it either as a bush or as a climber. It can get up to 3m;
- “Aloha” - it is a long summer-autumn pink flowers. It can get up to 2.4m

If you are looking for climber and rambler roses, you could consider this ones:

- “Francis E. Lester” - it has pinkish-white flowers and it can get up to 4.5m;
- “Goldfinch” - the flowers of this type are yellow and it can get up to 3.
Firstly you should look for a sunny spot with rich soil and with lots of organic matter. You should also be aware of alkalinity and acidity.
Most of the roses can be plant any time of the year. You should remove any dead growth and cut within 15cm of the plant to help the new growth in late winter. You should also think about a shape than you want your tree to be and train it out.
As a last advice: before you think of planting a flower, think of the responsibility you are taking.
