Third world is the name given to countries from Asia, Africa, Oceania and Latin America that are poor, have a high birthrate, depend on advanced countries economically and not technological advanced. This term was used for the first time by the French demographer Alfred Sauvy in 1952 with the expression “tiers monde”. A third world country is a country that is nothing, but “wants to become something” as the French demographer said.
These countries tend to have high rate diseases, population growth and unstable governments. Many of these countries are rural and agrarian except a few developed cities.
Nowadays there are many institutes that try to find some solutions on this matter. Some of them try to make the other people understand the Third World people needs. There are many concerts and public actions made to collect money for this people.
Most of them don't even have a meal a day. There is a campaign in some areas in Africa where children that go to school are offered a meal a day. This is very good because most of parents didn't use to send their children to school as they consider it to be a time lost. There is another campaign where people learn to do something in order to live. Mostly they learn to crop. This way they are helped to help themselves. I think is the best way to help them.
